𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴—𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀

Recently Kay Young, coach and supervisor for coaches, said that being a Gestalt coach is a 𝗴𝗶𝗳𝘁 🎁to the business world. It made me reflect on what I bring to coaching.

Yes, Gestalt uses many creative techniques—but what I want to highlight here is 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲.

For four long years, I went through an 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻—a washing machine, sometimes at 90 degrees! 🔥

Humor aside, this journey changed me forever. Meeting my wounds, healing them, or simply accepting them, and learning to love myself as I am—this process opens a world 𝗼𝗳 𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. It expands horizons, 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁, and connects me to people and the world around me. In short: 𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴. 🌟

Through simply being—𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 🌿—I can connect to the potential of being in the person in front of me and accompany them to the places where they feel stuck. This presence allows them to access and remain in that space, 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 it fully. From there, 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 can arise, and they can 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 from a place that once seemed dark and lifeless.

Each soul aspires to be complete and live to its fullest potential. Work challenges matter, but without this deep aspiration, life cannot bring true satisfaction.
